In the 2.4GHz band we can achieve a speed of up to 400Mbps, thanks to its two internal antennas with 4.6dBi gain in MIMO 2T2R configuration. In the first 5GHz band we can achieve a speed of up to 867Mbps, thanks to its two internal antennas with 4.9dBi gain in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration. The antennas of the 2.4GHz and 5GHz-1 band are dual, in the second 5GHz frequency band We have two internal antennas in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration with which we will achieve a speed up to 867Mbps. Therefore, we are facing an AC2200 class WiFi Mesh router, where a 5GHz frequency band is exclusively dedicated to the interconnection of the different nodes and here we will have all the backbone traffic of the mesh network. This router allows you to configure the channel widths with 20 / 40MHz in the 2.4GHz band, and 20/40 / 80MHz in the 5GHz bands, it does not support 160MHz of channel width in the 5GHz bands.
In the wireless network we have the possibility of configuring the “Smart Connect” to enable band-steering, that is, it will automatically place us in the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band depending on the coverage that we are going to receive. We also have the ability to configure guest WiFi networks, configure the WiFi scheduler and the typical options related to SSID, security, MAC filtering and more. Of course, being a WiFi Mesh system we will have WiFi roaming, to go from one node to another in a transparent way. A very important detail is that we can have a maximum of 4 devices per WiFi Mesh system, that is, a router and 3 satellites.
Regarding the wired characteristics, we have a total of One Gigabit Ethernet port for the Internet WANCurrently the firmware does not support VLANs on the WAN, so it would not be compatible with FTTH directly, we would have to have some way to untag the VLAN. In addition to the Gigabit Ethernet port of the Internet WAN, we also have one Gigabit Ethernet port for the LAN.
The hardware that this router incorporates is top of the range, it has a processor Qualcomm IPQ4019, it is a Quad-Core at a speed of 720MHz, we also have 512MB of RAM and 4GB of FLASH eMMC memory to store the operating system with all its registers and settings. Finally, this new QNAP QMiro-201W router allows you to manage it through the QuRouter application for mobile devices, we can manage QNAP QMiro-201W locally and remotely, as well as create the WiFi Mesh network directly from the application. We can also add or delete different nodes.
