How to watch TV broadcasts and streaming without cuts or stops at home

Problems watching Internet TV or streaming video

When we have few computers connected to the home local network, watch Internet TV or stream video, as long as the TV is connected by cable, we know that everything will work correctly without any problem, however, problems come when we have dozens of connected devices consuming Internet bandwidth, because the router must handle all this traffic equally, therefore, the router will give the same priority to P2P downloads to squeeze the available bandwidth as to streaming video on TV, and this is a problem for users who are watching TV. While the downloads made do not matter if they take a few more minutes, it is critical that the bandwidth for broadcasting TV or streaming works as a priority over these downloads.

Regarding whether we connect the TV via WiFi, we must bear in mind that in WiFi wireless networks, the more computers we connect to the WiFi network simultaneously, the less bandwidth we have available for each of them due to the access protocol the shared medium CSMA / CA used in wireless networks. Although the latest standards have clearly improved this with the launch of MU-MIMO from WiFi 5, and with OFDMA from WiFi 6, today we continue to use WiFi routers with the WiFi 5 standard and even WiFi clients (TVs and other devices) do not have this technology, therefore, they will have to continue using OFDM. In addition, it is possible that we have a single router and we do not have a WiFi Mesh system in the home local network, therefore, it is possible that the TV does not achieve good coverage in the 5GHz band (where it is advisable to connect this type of device) and instead, you have to use the 2.4GHz band compulsorily.

Solutions to not have more problems

These problems that we usually find in domestic homes, we can solve them through different configurations in the router and the installation of additional equipment to improve the wireless signal. Next, we are going to make all the necessary recommendations so that the user experience when using streaming services is perfect.

Prioritize what matters on your home network

Many home routers that we buy from manufacturers such as AVM with their FRITZ! Box, ASUS, D-Link, NETGEAR and other manufacturers, have a system to prioritize the different devices on the local network over others, and we can even prioritize the content of the traffic generated by these devices. In the case of AVM, as of version 7.25 we can create a prioritization rule in the local network and in the wireless network, in this way, we can give the highest priority to our TV or device that we are using for video streaming .

Thanks to QoS (quality of service) We will be able to prioritize applications and devices, ensuring that the selected device receives the data packets first, and then the rest of the devices connected to the local network. This means that TV broadcasts, video streaming or video conferences will have the highest priority, even if we are downloading through P2P programs consuming a large Internet bandwidth.

As you can see, all manufacturers have very intuitive menus that allow us to easily prioritize the applications that we want.

If you use WiFi, 5GHz or use a WiFi Mesh

In order to achieve the best performance, it is highly recommended that you always connect video devices on the 5GHz band because they will have higher available bandwidth and less interference with neighboring networks. If you have only one router and coverage does not reach you, then our recommendation is to mount a WiFi Mesh system, or a router plus a repeater with Mesh functions, since you will not only improve the performance of the TV that performs the streaming, but also all the devices you connect to the wireless network.

Depending on the physical situation of the different devices, you can connect to one network (router) or another (WiFi repeater), to balance network traffic and not only “load” the main router with all wireless devices. In this case, manufacturers have launched specific WiFi Mesh solutions for 2, 3 and even more nodes to distribute throughout our home, manufacturers such as AVM have incorporated into their FRITZ! OS operating system the possibility of setting up a WiFi Mesh network easily. and fast using routers, WiFi repeaters and PLCs with WiFi, provided they have the latest firmware versions.

Other interesting uses of the router in terms of video

Many home routers incorporate the ability to connect a storage device via USB 3.0 Removable, the firmware of all routers incorporate a multimedia server, or also known as a DLNA server, which will allow us to play music and videos easily and quickly, in addition, we can see images, audio and video on TVs that support this standard which are all. In this way, if we have local multimedia content on the router, we will not consume Internet bandwidth.

They present QUIC, the protocol that will improve the Internet

QUIC, the protocol that could replace TCP

Internet It has changed a lot in recent years, as have the different devices that we use in our day-to-day lives. Technology advances, new standards and improved protocols appear to achieve an improvement in security, stability and speed.

One of these basic protocols for our connections is TCP. It emerged in 1974 and since then it has been key. In recent years Google has been working on QUIC, a protocol designed to transmit data between various computers connected to the network, with significant improvements in security and speed.

This protocol has the potential to be a substitute for TCP. You can certainly achieve a significant performance improvement, when users are increasingly demanding when looking for fast and stable connections. Logically it is not something that will replace it overnight, since there are many teams that would have to adapt.

Specifically, Google has been working on QUIC for eight years. Now, after this time, they have officially presented it as a new standard, becoming an official RFC in IETF (Internet Engineering Working Group, if we translate it into Spanish). However, as developer Robin Marx points out in his twitter account, there is still a long way to go.

Safe, fast and reliable

Undoubtedly these three words are very important on the Internet, whatever the context in which we include them. It is essential to have devices, services and applications that are totally secure, reliable and also work properly.

That’s what the QUIC protocol promises. It is prepared to become a very important point for our connections in the next years. This Google technology allows the use of IPv6 to connect a large number of devices, HTTPS to achieve greater security at all times, as well as encryption capable of facing the most extreme challenges. It is important to choose the best encryption.

We can say that ultimately QUIC has been designed to carry out the same job as TCP, but all better. Greater security, speed and reliability. Just what private users, as well as companies and organizations, demand the most when connecting to the Internet.

QUIC, which is the name of this protocol, comes from Quick UDP Internet Connection, which we could translate into Spanish as Fast UDP Internet Connection. However, the IEFT does not recognize this word as an acronym.

When it comes to transferring data, Robin Marx indicates that QUIC is somewhat like TCP 2.0 + TLS 1.3. It will be more optimized in order to avoid security problems, without slowing down the connection.

Restarting the routetr is important to troubleshoot connection failures

Restarting the router can help us troubleshoot

Surely on some occasion we have encountered the problem that the Internet connection is slow, we have cuts when trying to navigate, coverage comes and goes and, in general, failures that prevent us from having a correct functioning of the device. This may make it necessary reboot the routeras it could help us fix many of these errors.

The router is like any other system

First of all, you have to keep in mind that the router is like any other system. I mean, we can compare with a computer, even if it has fewer capabilities. It has a firmware to manage requests, it has a processor, RAM and other components that will allow us to connect to the Internet.

However, it could happen that there is a problem with that system. Some process hangs or starts to malfunction. It is exactly the same as what could happen to us on the computer or on the mobile and we are forced to turn it off to turn it on again later. Of course, it should be noted that for reboot the router well you have to keep it off for at least 30 seconds.

Fix IP conflict

There could also be a conflict of IP addresses. We have more and more computers connected to the network, especially if we take into account what is known as the Internet of Things. This can cause saturation, conflict.

Certainly one way to avoid this is to give the router a break and restart it. You are going to reassign IP addresses to the different computers that you have connected and in this way we can solve possible conflicts that may exist and make everything work correctly again.

Overheating

Like any other device, the router can suffer overheating. It is true that this type of device is designed to be operating constantly, for weeks or months, without suffering problems. But sometimes users place it in a bad place, such as near other devices, near a window where direct sunlight enters, etc.

All of this could affect performance. It could cause problems and lead to overheating leading to failures. Once again, if we restart the router we can avoid certain problems like this one that we mentioned. Once again, it is important to correctly reset the router.

Problems handling requests

Of course there could also be problems for manage all requests that we send to the router. There may be too many devices that we have connected and literally saturate the system. Hence, it is essential to have to turn it off and on again.

Ultimately, for these reasons it may be necessary to restart the router. It can come in handy to make our connection work better, have a correct speed, stability and not suffer cuts. Whenever we have failures of this type we can count on this option.

VPN programs for surfing the Internet are on the rise

VPN usage among users grows

The use of the Internet has changed a lot in recent years. We have more and more devices compatible with Wi-Fi networks, greater availability and also more number of services and programs that need connection. This makes us connected almost permanently and everywhere.

But for this to be possible, to be able to do it with the best guarantees, it is convenient to use certain programs, such as a VPN. Its use has exploded especially in recent times. More and more users choose to have this type of program on their devices.

We echo a study that they have carried out on the use of VPN by Americans, but we can also extrapolate it to other countries. CouponFollow has surveyed 1,666 users a little over a year ago and 1,834 last February, a year later.

This has resulted in the use of VPNs growing in recent months for different reasons. 69% of users indicated that they are concerned about the security of your data when using a public Wi-Fi network. Keep in mind that this is something more and more common, since we can find networks almost anywhere.

Furthermore, 65% are concerned that their telephone operator can share or sell your data and collect information. But also, 47% are concerned about privacy when they surf the Internet from public networks and fear that those sites they visit may collect data.

But this is not only a concern when users connect to Wi-Fi in public places, but also in their own homes. In this case, 64% fear that there may be intermediaries when connecting to Wi-Fi and 30% fear that their privacy will be compromised.

Avoid fraud and hijacking of social networks

In recent times we have seen different data breaches that have affected social networks. Users are now more aware of the real problem and how their personal information could be compromised. We saw recently that sometimes the VPN does not work with mobile data in Windows and it is something we need to fix.

This has also prompted many to choose to use a VPN and thus avoid or reduce online fraud and the hijacking of social media accounts. These services are used to encrypt the connection when we connect to a public network and it is very useful.

But without a doubt a factor that has greatly influenced the use of VPNs to skyrocket is working remotely. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought important changes in everyone’s day-to-day life. One of the most obvious is that many workers have begun to perform their duties from home, remotely. In order to connect to company computers, as well as to maintain security and privacy, something very interesting is to have a program of this type that can encrypt the connection.

Main pages of the Dark Web or Deep Web on the Internet

Dark Web Websites

Keep in mind that to access the Dark Web you must have a special browser. It is not worth using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or any of the main ones. In this case we will have to access through the TOR browser.

In case of not having installed TOR we can download it from your official website. It is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and also Android. It is essential since we are going to access .onion sites, which we can only enter with this type of encrypted browser. Also, you have to connect to the TOR network for it to work properly.

Once we have what we need ready, we can now show some of the main web pages of the Dark Web or Deep Web. It should be noted that most of the websites are legitimate and do not represent any type of problem for users.

Facebook via .onion

A classic is to access Facebook through the TOR network. We are facing the most used social network worldwide and this can also have added problems. For example, we could be tracked, suffer information theft or even that it is blocked in another country and we cannot access our account.

Thanks to the TOR network we will be able to enter Facebook from the Deep Web. Logically the domain changes and we have to access https://www.facebookcorewwwi.onion/. If we test it from Chrome or Firefox, for example, we will see that nothing opens. However when entering from the TOR browser we can get to the home page.

This will allow you to create a profile on this totally anonymous social network. We can also skip the geographical restrictions or limitations that we may have according to the operator. Ultimately we are hiding our real IP address.

The Hidden Wiki

We can also access a hidden Wikipedia version. His name is Hidden Wiki or Hidden Wiki. Used to find .onion sites. As in the previous case we will have to access through TOR and in this case the address is http://zqktlwi4fecvo6ri.onion/wiki/index.php/Main_Page.

It is especially indicated for skip censorship that may exist in certain countries. Users will be able to access content that may be illegal here. For example political issues in dictatorial countries.

DuckDuckGo

The popular private search engine also has an .onion version. For many it is an alternative to Google, as it better preserves the privacy and data of users. But we can also enter its version for the Deep Web.

The URL is https://3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion/ and we can perform totally anonymous searches, without our data being recorded. We will use the TOR browser to access this .onion domain.

TorLinks

Where can we find more .onion links? We have the option to access TorLinks. There we will see the URLs of many web pages of the Deep Web. In addition, we will find it divided into sections to facilitate reading.

TorLinks

We have to go to the URL http://torlinksd6pdnihy.onion/. There we will see the different sections as we can see in the image.

Devices to have a better Wi-Fi coverage at home

Equipment to improve Internet speed

There are many options we have to connect to the network. We can do it from a computer, mobile, Tablet, connecting directly to the router, using cable or Wi-Fi, having repeaters … But whatever the option, having good speed and stability is essential.

Sometimes we can’t get our connection to work well. We may be too far from the access point and this greatly limits speed, as well as causing outages. That’s where the devices that help us to improve signal quality and have better coverage. We can use them in our home and improve significantly.

PLC

A simple option that allows us to bring the connection to other corners of our home are PLC devices. Basically it is a kit of two teams: one of them connects to the router and the electrical network, while the other we connect it to an electrical outlet in another place where we are interested in having a better connection.

The signal travels through the electrical wiring. This means that we can cover an area of several hundred square meters, although logically the greater the distance, the more problems we can have.

An interesting point is that many options allow us to connect both by cable and wirelessly. Thus we can also connect devices that can only be connected by wire.

We leave you some interesting options of PLC devices:

Wi-Fi repeaters

We can also choose Wi-Fi repeaters. Perhaps it is the most used in our homes. Simply what this type of device does is repeat the signal they receive, so it can go further than it would simply with what the router emits.

We can use several, if necessary. They connect to the router and later our devices connect to the repeater. As in the previous case, there are options to connect by cable and also wirelessly. Very interesting to cover an area where coverage is worse.

You can see some interesting Wi-Fi repeaters:

Wi-Fi Mesh systems

In this case we are facing a more complex system, but one that undoubtedly offers a better result. It is more suitable especially for a large home in which we need to cover a larger area and not do without the connection quality. Also very useful for a large office, for example.

The Wi-Fi Mesh systems they are made up of several satellites. They can be from two to many more. They are all connected to each other and not directly to the router. This will allow to have a better quality and that there are not so many cuts. There are differences between a Wi-Fi Mesh system and a repeater.

There are also different options to have a Mesh Wi-Fi system:

Therefore, these are some options that we have to be able to connect to the Internet with better coverage and speed. We have talked about three very interesting types of devices that we can install in our home and thus achieve better results when we use Wi-Fi in our day to day life.

Analysis and opinion of the routers ASUS RT-AX86U, RT-AX82U and RT-AX68U

More than 120 people participated in this contest, who met all the requirements that we established in order to participate and enter the list of possible chosen ones. After evaluating their questionnaires, we had to choose a total of three participants to test the real performance of the different routers from the ASUS manufacturer. Eduardo was chosen to test the ASUS RT-AX86U With its 2.5G port and WiFi 6, Johnn was chosen to test the ASUS RT-AX82U as I had multiple consoles to do all the speed tests with, and eventually Eddy was chosen to test the router ASUS RT-AX68U, a really interesting model and with a great value for money.

Eduardo’s review with the ASUS RT-AX86U

Eduardo was chosen to test the performance of the ASUS RT-AX86U router because he had WiFi 6 cards to make the most of the wireless network, and also different teams with Multigigabit cards to check the performance of the 2.5G Multigigabit port that this router incorporates. In the WiFi tests on the 5GHz band, Eduardo was able to synchronize at a theoretical speed of 2.4Gbps, the maximum synchronization of his Intel AX201 card that he has in his computer. It has also managed to synchronize at a speed of 2.5Gbps using the dedicated 2.5G port for the LAN that this router has.

The tests that Eduardo has carried out show that it is possible to achieve more than 800Mbps real via WiFi without any problem, both in the local network when transferring files via LAN, as well as for the Internet by performing speed tests. Specifically, it has been able to achieve a speed of 841Mbps from the laptop to a PC that acts as a server, and from the PC that acts as the server to the laptop at a speed of 941Mbps. However, as you can see, we have a bottleneck in the Gigabit Ethernet interface where you have connected the PC.

Other tests that it has carried out are through the 2.5G port that the router incorporates, connecting the PC that acts as a server, and this time it has achieved a real speed of 1.6Gbps in sending, and a speed of 1.4Gbps in reception.

Finally, regarding the speed of the USB 3.0 port incorporated in the router, it has achieved a speed via WiFi of 63.6MB / s in writing and 110MB / s in reading, an outstanding performance in all cases.

John’s review with the ASUS RT-AX82U

Johnn was chosen to test the real performance of the ASUS RT-AX82U router, a router specifically geared towards gaming as it incorporates a large amount of software to optimize latency and performance for online games. Johnn has performed performance tests both via cable and via WiFi with the PS5 consoles and also with the Xbox Series S, his Internet connection is 600Mbps download and 100Mbps upload, as you can see, the performance he has achieved in every moment is the maximum possible:

  • Wired PS5: 532.5Mbps download and 96.8Mbps upload
  • PS5 connected by WiFi in 5GHz: 397Mbps download and 57.5Mbps upload
  • Xbox Series S wired: 592.06Mbps download and 90.92Mbps upload
  • Xbox Series S connected by WiFi in 5GHz: 267.6Mbps download and 100.56Mbps upload

The latency in all cases is around 47ms against the servers of the PS5 and Xbox Series S respectively.

Other tests that he has carried out is to test the WiFi 6 performance of the ASUS Rog Strix X570-E Gaming board that incorporates an Intel AX200 network card inside, at a distance of about 12 meters from the router, the speed he has achieved is 380Mbps download and 108Mbps upload. Another performance test has been carried out with the iPhone 12 Pro at one meter from the router, achieving the maximum speed of the Internet connection, 608Mbps download and 107Mbps upload.

Regarding his experience with online games and this router, he indicates that the stability with his old router was not entirely good, but this new RT-AX82U this has changed radically, since it does not suffer from problems that it sporadically had before, and now you notice that everything goes much smoother when you do intense gaming sessions: “The stability of the connection reduces latency and increases performance in the most demanding competitive games.”

Eddy’s view of the ASUS RT-AX68U router

Eddy was another of those chosen to test one of the ASUS manufacturer’s routers, in his case, he has thoroughly tested the ASUS RT-AX68U router. Due to his hobbies and work, at home you always need a good Internet connection, both WiFi and wired, because you have several TVs, smartphones and even a NAS server from the manufacturer Synology and a lot of home automation at home. In other words, you need a powerful router because you will be connecting dozens of devices simultaneously.

Your Internet connection is from Jazztel with 600Mbps symmetric, therefore, you can get up to 600Mbps download and upload in wireless tests. In addition, it has compared the wireless performance of this ASUS RT-AX68U router with its predecessor, the RT-AC68U that we have had such good results in tests years ago.

Consistently, both the download and upload performance of the ASUS RT-AX68U router has always surpassed the RT-AC68U router with which it compares it, giving us the following results:

As you can see, with this router we are going to obtain a symmetrical speed of 600Mbps if we are close to the router, and if we move away we will achieve approximately 600Mbps of download and about 450Mbps of upload, an outstanding performance without a doubt. He also wanted to indicate that a few months ago he did the same tests with the Huawei Router 3 WiFi 6, and the old ASUS RT-AC68U surpassed the Huawei router in all the tests.

Other tests carried out have been with the OnePlus 8T smartphone, at 1.5m from the router it achieves about 550Mbps with both routers, both with the RT-AC68U and the RT-AX68U. However, where the ASUS RT-AX68U router surpasses the old RT-AC68U is when we connect the mobile from 8 meters (very far from the router), achieving 92 / 84Mbps in the RT-AX68U compared to the 85 / 32Mbps of the RT-AC68U .

Finally, Eddy ends his analysis by indicating that this router is not cheap compared to Xiaomi or Honor routers, but it is clearly better than these cheaper models and does what it promises.

Common mistakes when buying a new router and what to avoid

What mistakes to avoid when buying a router

We may decide to buy a new router to have a better connection. It could also happen that we have changed our telephone company and they give us a new one. Whatever the case, some important aspects must be taken into account so as not to have problems that could put our security and privacy at risk, in addition to affecting the proper functioning.

Keep factory settings

One of the clearest mistakes is keeping the factory setting with the router. We should not start using the Internet without first changing some default parameters. For example we talk about changing the name of the Wi-Fi network, the password, the type of encryption if necessary …

Keeping the router as it comes from the factory can be used by hackers to carry out their attacks. They can know certain vulnerabilities that affect a specific model and put security at risk.

Don’t use a strong password

Another very important bug is to use any key. A tip that we must take into account is that of use correct password. When using a new router, the normal thing is that we have a password that already comes from the factory. This password is not secure, since in many cases it follows a pattern established by the model and could be found out by hackers.

The key that we believe must be correct, it must contain everything necessary to make it strong and cannot be easily ascertained. It must contain letters (uppercase and lowercase), numbers and also other special symbols. All this, in addition, in a random way.

Leave without updating the firmware

This is something that many users do not take into account when purchasing a new router or after a long time of use. The firmware must always be updated to the latest version, since this way we will achieve the improvements in performance that are included, but also correct possible vulnerabilities that can be exploited by intruders to carry out attacks.

Put it in the wrong place

Of course, we must find a way to correctly place our new router and that it can offer a good connection. On many occasions, users place it in anywhere in the house, near an outlet, telephone line and, sometimes, where it is least in the way.

However, it must be borne in mind that we must place it in a good location and thus avoid problems. It must be located in a central place in the house, from where you can properly distribute the connection. Dead zones must be avoided.

Not using the correct wiring

It is true that today most devices are connected by cable, but there are still many that allow a wired connection. This means that we must use the correct wiring. There are different types of network cables. Basically we can say that in case of using a cable in poor condition or old we will have the speed limitation of 100 Mbps.

Ultimately, these are some basic mistakes to avoid when using a new router. We must take into account this that we have mentioned and thus make it work as well as possible.

I can’t access a website from my PC: How to fix it

On the occasions when this failure occurs, it is usually not difficult to solve it. However, unless the cause is found the first time, figuring it out may take time. When you cannot enter a page from your PC, but you can from your mobile, you have to check the connection, DNS and more.

Internet connection

When we see that that website that we usually access does not load, we look for ways to find out what happens. The first idea that usually comes to mind is to try another device. Nowadays, the element that we have more at hand to test is the mobile.

The moment we see that it loads on the mobile correctly, we must ask ourselves if they are using the same Internet connection. That mobile may be using mobile data on a separate connection. The other option is that it is connected by Wi-Fi, in which case they would be using the same connection. In the event that the smartphone was connected by mobile data, it could indicate that the mobile network works, but fiber optics or ADSL does not. On the other hand, if it was connected by WiFi and surfs normally, we could already think of other types of failures.

One thing we could start with is to check if the domain we want to visit is active or has a problem. For this we will do the following:

  1. We go to the Start Menu.
  2. We write cmd and press enter.
  3. We ping the domain in question that we want to check.

In the event that everything is in order, it will offer results like these:

Otherwise, if there is packet loss, the fault is in our PC or the Internet connection. Also, although rare, it could be something physical or hardware related. We mean that the network / WiFi card of the PC or laptop is damaged, the network cable or the Ethernet part of the router has been damaged.

DNS servers can prevent access to websites

DNS comes from the acronym in English Domain Name System or Domain Name System. The function of the DNS servers is to direct us to the address that we write in the address bar of the browser. When we visit websites, they are hosted on web servers with a specific public IP. Thus, after putting the name of a domain, that DNS server is responsible for providing us with that IP to route the traffic.

A problem could be that the DNS servers that we were using were not working well, or simply that they were down. DNS on a PC can be obtained both from the router and from Windows, configuring it in Windows TCP / IP.

Here you have explained how to change Windows DNS to navigate faster.

Clear data (cache and cookies) in the web browser

Another thing that we could also look at, would be to delete all the browsing data from our browser. In Google Chrome in options we enter Setting. Then we click on Privacy & Security and then we select Clear browsing data.

In section Weather we select Since ever, we mark the options as above and touch the button Delete data. Another thing we could try is use a different browser. Even if you have Internet access, we could consider installing a new one that we do not have installed like Firefox, Opera or Chrome.

Finally, if it continues to fail, it would not hurt to check that our operating system is up to date. To this we should add an analysis with our antivirus and antimalware program if we have one.

Be careful when placing the router and other appliances near

Placing the router correctly is essential

Take care of the router It will be essential for the connection to work well, not having interruptions when browsing, achieving a good speed and also avoiding security problems that may affect us. Here we must take into account some essential factors such as the placement of the router, the place we choose, as well as avoiding certain devices nearby.

Why should we be careful where we place the router? Let’s say that we have put it in a place in the house where we will not need it to have good coverage. Let’s also say that this area is very far away or that it even has many walls and obstacles. This could significantly affect the quality of the connection. We could have problems connecting our mobile devices and even generate many dead zones in our home.

That is why when buying a new router or even if we already have it but we are going to move it, we take into account how it could affect us. It needs to be located in a central location of the house, that it can distribute the signal as well as possible and that we also take advantage of the space to connect there the equipment that needs it most.

But you also have to be careful with what devices we have nearby. For example, avoid putting the router near the television and other electrical devices. This could affect the quality of the signal, it could cause us to have speed and stability problems.

Therefore, we must be careful with where we place the router and also with what other devices we can have nearby and that could be affecting performance. In the end, all this will add up to achieve a good connection, with the best speed and avoid problems.

Aspects to take into account so that the router works well

We have seen that the place where we go to place the routerAs well as preventing it from being near other devices, it will influence achieving a good speed and quality of the connection. But we are also going to give other interesting aspects so that it works as well as possible. It is important to improve the coverage of the Wi-Fi router.

Update the router

Undoubtedly a very important point for the router to work well is to have it updated. You have to avoid having the device out of date, since there are many vulnerabilities that can appear and that could put at risk not only performance, but also security.

Keep safe

Of course the safety must be present at all times. This will also help improve the performance of our device. We must, for example, change the Wi-Fi password and create one that is strong and complex. Also use encryption that is secure, avoiding outdated ones like WEP encryption. In another article we saw how to see the IP address of the router. This may be necessary for configuration.

Configure the channel well

What channel Wi-Fi are we going to use? That will also determine the quality of the signal. We must use one that is free and thus obtain a better performance. It is another point that can benefit our router.
